CUTEC is providing solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) research and development projects together with its partners Clausthal University of Technology, and H.C. Starck GmbH, Goslar. Furthermore, CUTEC is coordinating the Competence Cluster "Sciences and SOFC development" of the Fuel Cell Initiative in the Federal State of Lower Saxony.

News at HANNOVER MESSE 2007:
CUTEC uncovers first details about its "SOFC system demonstrator for decentralized energy supply". At this project, CUTEC together with it's partners H.C. Starck GmbH, Goslar, and the Clausthal University of Technology will develop a system demonstrator for indicating the opportunities of decentralized electrical power and heat supply with the use of commercial propane gas in a high-temperature fuel cell (SOFC).
The Competence Cluster Sciences and SOFC development of the Fuel Cell Initiative in the Federal State of Lower Saxony, located at CUTEC, summarizes all local fuel cell research activities. It acts as contact point for cooperation and project acquisition.
