Company Interests:
N-GHY is a leading, private and independent French company committed in the development of Hydrogen generating fuel processors. The heart of N-GHY s technology is a proprietary non catalytic high temperature reactor for Hydrogen production. N-GHY supplies customers with Hydrogen generating prototypes gradually improved in power, size and efficiency. Designed to process any type of fuel: natural gas, propane, Diesel fuel, kerosene, naphtha or bio-fuels (vegetable oil methyl ester, vegetable oil, bio-ethanol, biogas, glycerine), they are Flexi-fuel. N-GHY has defined three development axes:
1. High pressure systems to generate pure Hydrogen and allow CO2 capture for decentralised pure hydrogen production for refuelling stations
2. Medium pressure systems to generate either pure Hydrogen or Hydrogen mixtures for industrial uses
3. Atmospheric pressure systems to generate Hydrogen mixtures to directly feed SOFC or PEMFC for stationary CHP (Combined Heat and Power generation) or mobile APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) applications.
Demonstration products are currently available in the range from 5 to 30 Nm3/h. Market products will be available early 2009. |

News at HANNOVER MESSE 2007:
On display on the booth, a presentation of N-GHY s 3 demonstration products:
1. A high pressure 100 kW Flexi-fuel Hydrogen generator: this unit runs at 55 bars and produces 30 Nm3/h hydrogen and CO from Natural Gas or Diesel Fuel (for example). Coupled with a purification unit (shift + PSA or membrane), it is well suited to refuelling stations. 30 Nm3/h H2 is enough to feed either 3 FC buses in commercial duty or 15 FC cars per day.
2. A medium pressure 30 kW Flexi-fuel Hydrogen generator : this unit runs at 10 bars and produces 10 Nm3/h hydrogen and CO from any bio fuel (vegetable oils, glycerine, biogas, bio ethanol). Coupled with a purification unit (shift + PSA), it is well suited to small industrial applications or FC coupling.
3. A low pressure 8 kW Flexi-fuel Hydrogen generator : this unit runs at 1,5 bars and produces 2 Nm3/h hydrogen and CO to directly feed a SOFC or to be coupled with a purification unit (shift + prox) to feed a PEMFC. |

Didier Grouset presented the road map to the commercialisation of Flexi-fuel hydrogen generators. The challenging goal is to demonstrate a high pressure Flexi fuel 500 Nm3/h pure H2 unit in 2010 to be commercialised in 2011. To reach this goal, 4 units will be manufactured and demonstrated as intermediate steps:
• 2007/2008: units generating 30 Nm3/h H2
• 2008/2009: high pressure units generating 120 Nm3/h H2 |
